OJK Mandates Pindar to Submit Complete Funding Transaction Data
The issuance of OJK Regulation (POJK) Number 8 of 2026 is one of the OJK’s steps to strengthen the data infrastructure of the digital finance industry, enabling supervision to be conducted more effectively, accurately, and based on risk. The regulation requires online lending providers (pindar) to submit funding transaction data to the OJK in a complete, accurate, current, whole, and timely manner. Data submission is carried out through a reporting system managed by the OJK. In line with this, pindar providers are also obliged to submit data transaction reports to the association via the Fintech Data Center reporting information system in accordance with applicable provisions. Agus Firmansyah, Head of the Integrated Financial Services Sector Surveillance and Policy Department at OJK, stated that the issuance of this regulation is part of strengthening the pindar industry’s regulatory framework through a reliable, comprehensive, and integrated reporting system. This arrangement is intended to improve the quality of funding transaction data, strengthen industry discipline, and support more effective supervision to maintain financial sector stability and support financing for the national economy. The POJK also regulates a mechanism for requesting Penerima Dana (fund recipient) information, which providers can utilise to support the funding distribution process, the implementation of risk management, and compliance with OJK provisions. The use of this information is restricted to purposes stipulated in laws and regulations, thereby maintaining the principle of prudence and user data protection. As part of strengthening governance, POJK 8/2026 requires every pindar provider to appoint a board of directors member responsible for Funding Transaction Data reporting and to have written policies and procedures regarding data submission and the use of Penerima Dana information. Furthermore, the POJK mandates that pindar providers conduct periodic internal audits of the reporting system’s implementation and apply internal controls, including the segregation of duties in managing the reporting system. According to the OJK, this POJK strengthens user data protection by prohibiting providers and associations from giving or trading user information to other parties, except to comply with statutory provisions. Providers are also responsible for using user information in accordance with permitted purposes. To ensure compliance with these provisions, the OJK stipulates administrative sanctions for providers that fail to meet reporting obligations, information usage rules, or governance requirements as set out in POJK 8/2026. The application of sanctions is intended to encourage industry discipline while maintaining the integrity and credibility of the pindar ecosystem. The OJK stated that this strengthening of the reporting system is expected to improve the quality of pindar industry governance, strengthen risk mitigation, increase public trust, and support the growth of a healthy, transparent, and sustainable digital funding industry.
