The Financial Services Authority (OJK) is investigating entities offering debt settlement services for online loans (pinjol). Dicky Kartikoyono, Executive Head of OJK’s Business Conduct Supervision, Education and Consumer Protection Unit, said the findings came from cyber patrols and information from the Task Force for Eradicating Illegal Financial Activities (Satgas PASTI) in various regions. Several entities are suspected of offering debt settlement services by charging fees and falsely claiming to be registered with OJK. ‘The information is currently under further investigation to determine necessary follow-up actions,’ Dicky Kartikoyono said in a written response received in Jakarta on Sunday, 24 May 2026. He also urged the public to remain vigilant against entities offering debt settlement services, particularly those demanding upfront payments or misusing OJK’s name or branding.
