The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has revealed that Indonesia’s capital market remains dominated by global uncertainty, reflected in the Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) which remained under pressure until June 2026, briefly falling below the 6,000 level. Director of Issuer and Public Company Supervision at OJK, Nailin Ni’mah, stated that despite the prevailing uncertainty in the stock market, market resilience is maintained. “This is reflected in adequate liquidity, transaction activity showing an improving trend, and more controlled selling pressure from foreign investors compared to previous periods,” she said at the Strengthening Market Integrity event at the Indonesia Stock Exchange building in Jakarta, Thursday (18/6/2026). In the bond market context, she continued, bond index performance has also remained relatively stable amid rising global risk perceptions. Meanwhile, the investment management industry continues to show maintained performance, with managed funds and investment activity still recording positive year-to-date growth. From a market deepening perspective, growth continues with a significant increase in the number of investors to 27 million. Strong corporate fundraising activity also demonstrates that the capital market continues to fulfil its role as a source of long-term financing for the economy. “OJK will continue to monitor market developments closely. Although volatility still needs to be watched, the IHSG is showing recovery, supported by solid market fundamentals, maintained liquidity, and a continuously expanding investor base,” she disclosed. Going forward, the expectation is that this strengthening trend can continue, supported by enhanced integrity, transparency, and governance to maintain investor confidence and further deepen the market, thereby strengthening investor trust and supporting the development of a healthier, more stable, and sustainable capital market.
