OJK Explains the Rp80.9 Million Account Belonging to AMPB Coordinator Supriyono, Urges Public to Do This

The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has spoken out regarding the suspension of transactions on an account belonging to Supriyono, coordinator of the Pati United Community Alliance (AMPB). The matter caused a public stir because the action was perceived as a blocking of the account.

Dian Ediana Rae, Chief Executive of Banking Supervision at the OJK, urged the public to remain calm in responding to information related to the matter.

“The OJK wishes to convey that public funds deposited in banks remain safe, are kept confidential under the Banking Law, and are guaranteed by the Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS),” Dian said in Jakarta on Tuesday, 25 August 2026.

Dian said that the implementation of customer account security procedures is also within the scope of OJK supervision. In this case, the OJK continuously coordinates with all relevant stakeholders in handling the account issue.

The OJK understands that the public response shows this matter is important because various events, issues, or rumours related to banking have the potential to affect not only the particular bank that is the subject of discussion.

Moreover, an issue can also potentially affect the stability and perception of the banking and financial system as a whole, especially on matters that intersect with reputation and public trust.

“The OJK fully understands that trust is the main foundation of the financial services industry, and the OJK also understands that events such as those reported in the news raise questions among the public,” Dian said.

However, Dian stated that a transaction hold, if carried out for purposes in accordance with applicable regulations, is actually a form of protection, not a threat, to trust.

He added that the transaction hold process is temporary and will end once the investigation process is completed. If no criminal violation is found, access to the account should be reopened.

“Thus, understanding the system that works to protect the interests of all parties fairly and professionally is in principle an important part of increasing and maintaining public trust,” Dian said.

Previously, Supriyono’s bank account was allegedly blocked while he was accompanying Pati residents to voice their aspirations in Jakarta on Friday (21/8). The account was said to contain Rp80.9 million in personal funds and public donations for the needs of the demonstration.
