The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has spoken out regarding the decrease in the number of prospective listed companies or issuers safely proceeding with Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) on the Indonesia Stock Exchange.

OJK Executive Head of Capital Market Oversight, Derivatives, and Carbon Exchange, Hasan Fawzi, revealed that the obstacles faced by prospective issuers in executing IPOs are influenced by several factors, including global geopolitical uncertainty.

“The decline in prospective companies for IPOs is influenced by several factors, including the dynamics of global market conditions, including increased geopolitical uncertainty which affects the timing of companies to execute public offerings,” he stated in a written statement on Wednesday (16/09/2026).

Hasan revealed that as of 6 September 2026, there are 7 companies currently in the IPO registration pipeline, with an estimated maximum fund target of Rp4.02 trillion.

“There are several planned stock IPOs that have not yet received approval because improvements in the quality of information disclosure are still required,” he said.

Hasan emphasised that OJK’s focus is not solely on achieving the number of IPOs, but rather on the overall fund collection within the capital market.

As stated by the Chairman of the OJK Board of Commissioners at the 2026 PTIJK, OJK has set a fund collection target for 2026 of Rp250 trillion. As of 6 September 2026, the value of fund collection in the capital market has reached Rp148.3 trillion.

“In achieving said target, OJK continues to prioritise the quality of information disclosure and the readiness of prospective issuers,” he added.

Hasan further noted that to develop companies intending to undergo an IPO, OJK, together with the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI), continues to conduct socialisations for prospective issuers, including through coaching clinics in various regions across Indonesia.
