Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) assesses that pension funds within the environment of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) are still able to meet payment obligations that fall due in the short term.

Ogi Prastomiyono, the Executive Head of Insurance, Guarantee, and Pension Fund Supervision at OJK, stated that the authority will continue to monitor the liquidity conditions of SOE pension funds, including collaborating with individual SOEs and Danantara.

“But so far, we are still able to control the payments for those, and we will later monitor and work together with each SOE as well as Danantara to assist with investments and also to pay obligations to participants that have fallen due,” Ogi said during a press conference at the Indonesia Pension Fund Summit (IPFS) 2026 in Jakarta on Friday.

Nevertheless, Ogi acknowledged that a number of pension funds still face liquidity constraints in meeting long-term obligations.

According to him, the condition of SOE pension funds is quite diverse. Some pension funds are in good financial health, while others are facing pressure.

“Regarding pension funds within the SOE environment, Danantara is reviewing all SOEs because SOE pension funds vary; some are good, while others are less so, perhaps because the founders have been dissolved or the founders are in financial difficulty, making them unable to pay the obligations of participants whose payments have fallen due,” he said.

Ogi mentioned that the SOE Ministry and Danantara will assist in managing the investments of SOE pension funds, taking into account fund adequacy and liquidity aspects.

He explained that the condition of pension funds needs to be viewed from two aspects: the ability to meet current obligations and the ability to meet long-term obligations based on actuarial calculations.

Long-term risk requires attention because some pension fund assets are held in the form of fixed assets, which are not always easy to convert into liquidity to meet payment obligations.

Therefore, OJK will continue to monitor the condition of SOE pension funds alongside the respective SOEs and Danantara.
