The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Friderica Widyasari Dewi, has confirmed that the Strategic Mineral and Commodities Exchange (BMKS) is sufficiently prepared in terms of organisation and regulation.

Friderica, known as Kiki, explained that a number of key positions within the BMKS working unit have been filled, from Deputy Commissioner and Department Head to the ranks below, so that these officials are simply awaiting their inauguration.

“Internally, we have prepared quite well. The key positions in the BMKS working unit — we call it BMKS, the Mineral and Commodities Exchange — have been filled. The Deputy Commissioner has been filled, the Department Head has been filled, and the functions below have also been filled,” said Kiki after attending the Indonesia Savings Day event in Bekasi on Friday.

This organisational readiness will allow the OJK to immediately carry out its supervisory function over the BMKS once the relevant officials begin their duties.

In addition to the organisation, the OJK has also prepared the regulations required for the process of transferring supervision of strategic commodities from the Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency (Bappebti) to the OJK.

Kiki said the OJK is preparing an OJK Regulation (POJK) governing the transfer of supervision as well as a POJK concerning the BMKS framework.

“Later, in accordance with the P2SK Law, it must be communicated and we must seek approval from the DPR, in this case Commission XI,” she said.

It was previously reported that the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) appointed Sarjito as Chief Executive of BMKS Supervision at the OJK for the 2026–2031 period through a DPR RI Plenary Meeting in Jakarta on Thursday (27/8).

Meanwhile, regarding the types of commodities to be traded through the BMKS, Kiki said the OJK is still awaiting a Presidential Regulation (Perpres).

“The commodities are waiting for the Perpres; everything is in there. That will be up to the President,” she added.
