OJK Chief: Debt Repayment Data in SLIK Must Be Updated Within 3 Working Days
The Chairperson of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Frederica Widyasari Dewi, also known as Kiki, has confirmed that as of 1 July 2026, financial service institutions are required to promptly update repaid credit data in the Financial Information Service System (SLIK) within a maximum of three working days. Speaking at the SLIK enhancement event at the Bank Indonesia building in Jakarta, Kiki explained that previously, updating credit data in SLIK often took around one to one and a half months. “Reporting of repaid credit data to SLIK must be done no later than three working days,” Kiki stated on Monday, 6 July 2026.
She explained that besides supporting MSMEs and the 3 million homes programme, this measure was taken by the OJK in response to widespread complaints about the slow updating of credit repayment data. “This is for a noble purpose for consumers, to help accelerate the 3 million homes programme and assist our MSME brothers and sisters,” she said.
Alongside this effort, Kiki also announced that the authority has implemented a minimum credit nominal threshold of IDR 1 million for debtor information in SLIK. The aim is to ensure that the data used in the credit assessment process becomes more relevant and proportionate. “This is to strengthen the credit ecosystem so that it can be of higher quality,” Kiki said.
Nevertheless, Kiki reminded that SLIK is not the sole factor in determining the approval or rejection of a credit application. Generally, financial service institutions will refer to the principle of prudence in the approval process for credit to be disbursed to their customers. “So it must be remembered that SLIK is not the only determinant of credit or financing approval,” Kiki said. “Because the financing decision remains with the financial service institution, based on feasibility analysis, risk management, and the principle of prudence,” she concluded.
