Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has blocked 33,252 accounts suspected of being linked to online gambling or “judol”, an increase from the previous figure of 32,556 accounts.

OJK’s Executive Head of Banking Supervision, Dian Ediana Rae, explained that the blockings resulted from Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) requested by OJK from the banking sector.

“Regarding the eradication of online gambling, which has widespread impacts on the economy and financial sector, OJK has also asked banks to conduct EDD or block 33,252 accounts suspected of online gambling,” said Dian during the March 2026 Monthly Commissioners’ Meeting Press Conference in Jakarta on Monday.

Meanwhile, in enforcing regulations and protecting consumers in the banking sector, from January to March 2026, OJK has revoked the business licences of six Rural Banks (BPR).

Dian stated that OJK consistently coordinates with the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) in handling issues related to Rural Banks (BPR)/Islamic Rural Banks (BPRS) in accordance with the mandate set out in Law No. 4 of 2023 on the Development and Strengthening of the Financial Sector (UU P2SK).

“To consistently and sustainably enforce the integrity of the financial system, OJK requires support from the Financial System Stability Committee (KSSK), the government, the House of Representatives (DPR), all law enforcement agencies, and other relevant parties,” said Dian.

Banking credit disbursements recorded annual growth (year-on-year/yoy) of 9.37% to Rp8,559 trillion in February 2026. Investment credit showed the highest growth at 20.72% (yoy).

OJK stated that banking industry liquidity remains adequate, as reflected in the liquid assets/non-core deposit ratio (AL/NCD) and liquid assets/third-party funds ratio (AL/DPK) of 121.29% and 27.4%, respectively. Both are still above their respective thresholds of 50% and 10%.
