The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has granted approval for the merger of eight rural banks (BPR) into PT BPR Pusaka Dana, located in Ciputat District, South Tangerang City, Banten Province, as part of its consolidation agenda. The eight BPRs are PT BPR Lambang Ganda, PT BPR Tutur Ganda, PT BPR Sungkunandhana, PT BPR Persada Ganda, PT BPR Ihuthan Ganda, PT BPR Sapadhana, PT BPR Padat Ganda, and PT BPR Ulintha Ganda. Head of OJK Banten Province, Adi Dharma, stated that this corporate action implements the provisions of POJK Number 7 of 2024 and represents a strategic step in strengthening the resilience of the BPR industry through institutional consolidation. He added that the merger of the eight BPRs into PT BPR Pusaka Dana is a tangible form of strengthening the BPR industry structure, expected to enhance capital capacity. Furthermore, the merger is expected to expand the service network, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen the competitiveness of the merged bank in providing quality services to the public and business actors, particularly the MSME sector. Through this merger, PT BPR Pusaka Dana will have a broader operational network with offices spread across Banten, West Java, Central Java, and East Java provinces. Consequently, the relevant BPR is expected to increase its service reach to the community and strengthen the BPR’s contribution to promoting financial inclusion in various regions. The merger approval was stipulated through the Decision of the OJK Board of Commissioners Member Number KEP-48/D.03/2026 dated 1 July 2026 concerning the Granting of Merger Approval for eight BPRs into PT BPR Pusaka Dana. All assets, liabilities, rights, and business activities of each BPR are now transferred to PT BPR Pusaka Dana as the merged bank. Additionally, the OJK also approved the change in office network status of all merging BPRs to become the office network of the merged PT BPR Pusaka Dana. Adi conveyed that the success of the consolidation process is not solely measured by the completion of the administrative aspects of the merger. More than that, success is also measured by the merged bank’s ability to integrate good corporate governance, strengthen the implementation of risk management, improve the quality of human resources, and maintain customer trust through professional and sustainable services. “The OJK will continue to supervise so that the post-merger integration process runs effectively, so that the consolidation goal of creating a healthier, stronger, more efficient, and competitive BPR can be achieved optimally,” said Adi.
