The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has expressed its appreciation for Bank Jakarta’s commitment to supporting the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government’s Regional Economic Development (PED) programme. This support is considered crucial for strengthening the creative economy ecosystem, which serves as a key driver in Jakarta’s vision to become a Top 20 Global City.

Nuning Isnainijati, Head of the OJK’s Directorate of Financial Services Business Conduct Supervision, Education, Consumer Protection, and Strategic Management Services, stated that Bank Jakarta has played an active role from the planning stages through to the preparation for the programme’s implementation. ‘We extend our thanks and appreciation to Bank Jakarta for its support and contribution to the Regional Economic Development programme, which is a flagship initiative of the DKI Jakarta Regional Financial Access Acceleration Team (TPAKD) to strengthen the creative economy sector as a game changer towards the vision of a Top 20 Global City,’ she said in a statement on Monday (6/7).

Nuning explained that Bank Jakarta actively participated in all stages of the programme’s formulation, from pre-Focus Group Discussion meetings in April 2026, to the FGD on 12 May 2026, and various pre-implementation agendas throughout June 2026. She noted that this collaboration is a vital asset for building sustainable cooperation between regulators, local government, the financial services industry, and creative economy players. ‘This synergy and collaboration will continue to be strengthened as the foundation for sustainable cooperation,’ she said.

As a follow-up, the OJK and relevant stakeholders held a Commitment Ceremony for the Regional Economic Development Programme for the advertising and events sub-sectors, which was part of the Jakarta Kreatif Festival 2026. Bank Jakarta was represented at the event by its SME Business Group Head, Bambang Nurcahyo. The commitment aims to strengthen collaboration between the government, regulators, the financial industry, and creative economy players to expand access to financing, increase the competitiveness of the creative sector, and drive inclusive and sustainable economic growth in Jakarta.

Meanwhile, Bank Indonesia’s Head of Representative Office for DKI Jakarta, Iwan Setiawan, stated that the synergy between Bank Indonesia, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, the OJK, banks, regional-owned enterprises, ministries, institutions, businesses, and communities forms the foundation for the capital’s economic transformation. He added that the Jakarta Kreatif Festival not only serves as a platform to promote the creative economy but also accelerates the digitalisation of transactions, expands financial inclusion, and enhances Jakarta’s competitiveness. ‘We hope the Jakarta Kreatif Festival 2026 will strengthen Jakarta’s steps towards becoming a creative, inclusive, competitive, and sustainable global city. This entire series of events underscores the shared commitment of all elements in DKI Jakarta to advance the city’s economy,’ Iwan said.
