Jakarta (ANTARA) — Indonesia’s Financial Services Authority (OJK) recorded that financing disbursed to the agriculture, forestry and fisheries sectors grew 10.12 per cent in July 2026, amid the El Nino phenomenon that could potentially affect these sectors.
“Overall, financing performance in these sectors continued to grow positively in July 2026,” said Agusman, Executive Head of Supervision for Financing Institutions, Venture Capital Companies, Microfinance Institutions and Other Financial Services Institutions at OJK, at a press conference in Jakarta on Monday.
Nevertheless, he said OJK continues to monitor the impact of the El Nino phenomenon on the financing, venture capital and microfinance industries (PVML), including on the agriculture, forestry and fisheries sectors.
Agusman said multifinance disbursed to the agriculture, forestry and fisheries sectors grew 10.12 per cent year on year to Rp42.51 trillion.
Meanwhile, venture capital financing or equity participation in the same sector grew 10.49 per cent year on year to Rp757.06 billion.
Even so, OJK continues to encourage the PVML industry to strengthen risk management and apply prudential principles in order to anticipate the impact of El Nino on business capacity and financing quality.
