Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has stated that the 2026 financial literacy and inclusion indices have surpassed the targets set in the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) 2025-2029. The government had targeted a financial literacy index of 69.35 percent and a financial inclusion index of 93 percent. Based on the results of the 2026 National Survey of Financial Literacy and Inclusion (SNLIK), the financial literacy index was recorded at 69.57 percent, while the financial inclusion index reached 93.61 percent. “If we look at the standards of OECD countries, the literacy index is around 63 percent. So, the figures we have achieved are already very high and have exceeded the RPJMN target,” said Chairman of the OJK Board of Commissioners, Friderica Widyasari Dewi, during the SNLIK 2026 results press conference in Jakarta, Monday. The survey employed a methodology with samples spread across 38 provinces and 514 regencies/cities. Interviews were conducted using the Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) method via the FASIH Mobile application. Meanwhile, the financial inclusion index in rural areas was recorded at 90.39 percent, while in urban areas it reached 95.47 percent. “The 2026 financial inclusion index for both urban and rural areas increased compared to last year, with urban areas rising by 0.99 basis points and rural areas by 0.36 basis points,” said BPS Head Amalia Adininggar Widyasa. By gender, the financial literacy index for men was recorded at 69.61 percent, and for women at 69.54 percent.
