'Ojek' driver found dead

JAKARTA (JP): A man believed to be an ojek (motorcycle taxi) driver was found dead behind the Jakarta Fair Ground on Jl. Kemayoran in Central Jakarta.

Central Jakarta Police Chief Lt. Col. Abubakar Nataprawira said the unidentified victim, who had his throat severed, was found by an area resident at 5 a.m.

Abubakar said the resident then reported the finding to a security guard at the Jakarta Fair Ground.

"The police found a blood-stained knife near the body," he said.

He said the victim, whose hands were also injured, is presumed to have gotten into a fight with his assailant.

The victim, believed to be in his 30s, was wearing a blue jacket, a black T-shirt and blue jeans. (jun)
