TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Coordinating Minister for the Economy Sri Mulyani Indrawati is optimistic that the oil and gas sector will continue to grow this year despite the crisis.
In front of the House of Representatives’ (DPR) Finance and Banking Commission members, Sri Mulyani said that the sub-sectors of oil and gas mining, non-oil and gas mining, and the oil and gas industry are growing well. She said that compared to 2008, the oil and gas and the non-oil and gas mining sectors can each grow by 2.5 percent.
Meanwhile, the oil and gas industry is projected to grow by 5 percent compared to the zero percent growth in 2008. “The oil and gas mining sector can still grow because the price and the demand for those commodities are still good,” she said yesterday.
