TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The state oil and gas company PT Pertamina Exploration and Products (Pertamina EP) have found new oil and gas reserves in Akasia Bagus well (ABG)-1 with a gas production potential of 8,6 MMSCFD (standard cubic feet per day) and 180 barrels of condensate per day.

From exploratory drilling in the oil and gas field in Jati Munggul Village, Cikidung Sub district, Indramayu Regency, West Java, Pertamina EP have found a hydrocarbon structure with gas domination.

“This is one of Pertamina EP’s aggressive attempts to obtain new oil and gas reserves,” said the Director of Pertamina EP Exploration and Development, Syamsu Alam, in an email received by Tempo yesterday.

The ABG-1 well explored on 5 December 2009 reached a depth of 3,100 meter in March 2010, with the main target of Baturaja limestone layer formation, upper Cibulakan layer formation and Parigi formation.

Next, an evaluation of the under the surface condition will be conducted to perform delineation well drilling.

Pertamina plans to allocate gas in this area to provide for the needs of West Java.
