OIKN: US to help realise Nusantara's smart city vision through $2.49 million grant
Nusantara (ANTARA) - Head of the Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN), Basuki Hadimuljono, stated that the United States is assisting in strengthening the planning of the smart city through a grant of $2.49 million. This reflects the international trust in the sustainable development of Nusantara.
“This grant support reflects international confidence in the vision of developing IKN as a future city based on technology and sustainability,” said Basuki Hadimuljono in Nusantara, Thursday.
The project is supported through a grant from the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), an independent agency of the U.S. government, with the aim of promoting economic development in developing countries while strengthening trade and investment partnerships.
In connection with this grant, a cooperation agreement was signed with the U.S. government the day before for technical assistance on smart city development solutions at the OIKN office.
According to him, the technical assistance will produce strategic and technical documents including the Smart City Enterprise Architecture, Procurement-Ready RFP Packages, Financial and Investment Model, ESG Compliant Framework (PESIA), Capacity Building Roadmap, and Implementation Phasing Plan.
All of these components are designed to ensure that the implementation of the IKN smart city runs in a structured, transparent manner, and in accordance with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles.
The project involves a consortium consisting of Eficens Systems Inc as the technical implementer, along with Frost & Sullivan (USA & Indonesia), ASECH Indonesia (Center of Excellence on Smart City), Mirekel, and PT Searce Technologies Indonesia (Partner Google Cloud Platform).
Meanwhile, a member of the Frost & Sullivan America board and project director of this initiative, Subhranshu Sekhar Das, explained about the long-term vision regarding the development of a cognitive city.
“Nusantara has the opportunity to be more than just a smart city; Nusantara can evolve into a cognitive city. As the global knowledge industry transforms, cities must shift from static digital infrastructure to adaptive intelligence systems,” said Subhranshu.
