OIC strongly condemns Houthi attacks on Makkah and Madinah

The General Secretariat of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has strongly condemned the heinous attacks carried out by the Houthi group from Yemen against the city of Makkah and the region of Madinah.

The OIC also condemned the ongoing aggression by the Houthis against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, according to a statement released on the OIC’s official website on Wednesday.

The OIC stated that these attacks cause fear among innocent civilians, violate the sanctity of holy sites and mosques, and provoke sentiments among Muslims worldwide.

Violations against the sanctity of holy sites are unacceptable and intolerable. Therefore, those responsible must face decisive action, and efforts to prevent any party from daring to violate the sanctity of these locations must be strengthened.

The OIC also expressed full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and supports all measures taken by the Kingdom to repel aggressors, maintain the sanctity of the holy sites and the safety of Muslims, and protect the security and sovereignty of the nation.
