OIC condemns Israel and warns against further closure of the Al-Aqsa Mosque

Jeddah — The General Secretariat of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemns the ongoing closure of the Al-Aqsa Mosque by the Israeli occupying authorities and the prevention of entry for worshippers for eight consecutive days. The OIC describes the action as a flagrant violation of the sanctity of holy sites and of the right to freedom of worship, as well as a provocation to Muslims worldwide. The Secretariat warns that continued violations and systematic assaults on the occupied city of Jerusalem and its holy sites will trigger cycles of violence and tension and further undermine stability in the region.
