Ogan Ilir Police Hold 'Patuh Musi 2026' Operation, Partnering with Online Taxis and Motorized Rickshaws
Ahead of the implementation of the 2026 Patuh Musi Operation, the Ogan Ilir Police have partnered with online motorcycle taxi communities and motorised rickshaw (bentor) drivers through the ‘Begesa Bersama Kapolres’ (BBK) programme. The engagement session took place at the BBK Coffee Shop in Ogan Ilir on Friday, 5 June 2026.
The meeting was led directly by the Chief of Ogan Ilir Police, AKBP Bagus Suryo Wibowo, and attended by various high-ranking officers alongside the Chairman of Indralaya Online Taxis and representatives from the motorised rickshaw community. During the relaxed dialogue, AKBP Bagus emphasised that the 2026 Patuh Musi Operation is not merely about enforcement, but is instead a collective effort to build traffic discipline and reduce accident rates in the Ogan Ilir area.
AKBP Bagus also highlighted that 60 per cent of enforcement during this operation will be conducted via Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) cameras. Consequently, the public is urged to ensure their vehicle documents and registration plates are compliant with regulations and clearly legible. He specifically warned against covering or obscuring number plates with plastic or non-standard bolts, stating that the primary goal is safety rather than finding faults.
The dialogue received a positive response from the transport communities. Dion, the Chairman of Indralaya Online Taxis, expressed support for the operation, noting that the direct explanation from the police helped drivers understand that the initiative is for mutual safety. Similarly, representatives from the motorised rickshaw community expressed appreciation for the dialogue, noting that many drivers require further guidance regarding load regulations and vehicle roadworthiness.
During the session, the Traffic Unit of the Ogan Ilir Police also provided technical education, emphasising the mandatory use of SNI-standard helmets, the prohibition of driving against the flow of traffic, the dangers of using mobile phones while driving, and the necessity of ensuring vehicles are in roadworthy condition, including functional brake lights.
