Officials sterilise routes in preparation for one-way traffic management on Cipali Toll Road

Subang — Officials have undertaken sterilisation of lanes and areas surrounding rest facilities on the Cikopo-Palimanan (Cipali) Toll Road as a preparatory measure for implementing one-way traffic management on this toll route.

Ardam Rafif Trisilo, Head of Sustainability Management & Corporate Communications at Astra Tol Cipali, stated during a visit to Subang, West Java on Tuesday that sterilisation is being conducted on the Jakarta-bound lanes and rest areas throughout the route.

He explained that the precise timing for commencing one-way traffic management will follow the discretion and direction of the police authorities in the field.

Traffic flow on the Cipali Toll Road from Jakarta towards Cirebon was monitored as busy but flowing smoothly on Tuesday. From 00:00 to 13:00 WIB, approximately 34,000 vehicles were recorded passing through the Cipali Toll Road from Jakarta towards Cirebon.

This traffic volume represented a 24 per cent increase compared to the same time period the previous day. Conversely, roughly 13,000 vehicles travelled from Cirebon towards Jakarta through Cikopo, representing a seven per cent increase compared to the same period the previous day.

Overall, traffic volume on the Cipali Toll Road was monitored at a 19 per cent increase compared to the same time period the previous day, according to Ardam.

Astra Tol Cipali urged all road users to prioritise safety and comply with instructions from field personnel during the sterilisation period and implementation of traffic management measures.

The company also appealed to road users to limit rest time to a maximum of 30 minutes, enabling rest area facilities to be used in rotation by other road users. Additionally, road users may utilise facilities outside the toll road by exiting through the nearest toll gate to rest and re-enter without incurring additional charges.
