Officials silent on Oki's dossier
JAKARTA (JP): Officials at the Jakarta Provincial Prosecutors'
Office kept their cards close to their chests yesterday over the
dossier of Oki, who is accused of committing three murders in Los
Angeles.
The head of the office, Djenal Achmad, refused to answer
reporters' questions on the case, saying "I am not competent to
speak on this. Please ask the office spokesman."
However, Spokesperson Petrus Sambara said, "No comment today."
I Ketut Suwara, who is the assistant investigator in charge of
special crime and Mulyono, his counterpart in charge of general
crime, revealed nothing about Oki's dossier.
The City Police returned the dossier of Harnoko Dewanto,
nicknamed Oki, to the prosecutors office after correcting it late
last year.
City Police Spokesperson Lt. Col. Iman Haryatna said in
November of last year that the trial of the murder case might
start in December 1995 or January this year.
Oki is accused of killing his natural brother Tri Harto
Darmawan, his female friend Gina Sutan Aswar and his Indian
business colleague Suresh Michandani in Los Angeles in 1991 and
1992.
The 31-year-old man, who was arrested in Jakarta early last
year, is currently serving a two-year jail term at Cipinang
penitentiary for passport forgery. (16/sur)
