Officials sacked for collusion

JAKARTA (JP): The West Jakarta mayoralty office fired five senior officials for collusive practices last year, but stopped short of instigating legal action.

Dismissal was the most severe form of punishment handed out to the errant employees, West Jakarta mayor Sarimun Hadisaputra said earlier this week.

Sarimun refused to identify the discharged officials, saying it would demoralize their families.

The mayor has already named replacements for the positions.

Over the same period, the mayoralty administration also demoted two officials, postponed salary increases for another two, and reprimanded five others for disciplinary offenses. (04)
