Officials probed for shoddy work

DENPASAR, Bali: The Ministry of Justice's Inspector General's
office is currently investigating three local officials and a
private contractor company for possible discrepancies in the
construction of the local administrative court building.

Local contractor CV Sarana Bhakti Jaya is being investigated
in relation to Minister of Justice Oetojo Oesman's statement that
the newly completed two billion rupiah building in Denpasar was
of very low quality.

Officials yesterday would not elaborate further on the
investigations. He added that they were conducting a marathon
inquiry and that there might be more people who would need to be
questioned.

Meanwhile, as reported by Antara yesterday, Hadi Chandra of CV
Sarana Bhakti Jaya denied allegations that the company had sub-
contracted the construction of the building to another firm PT
Adicipta Saranatama.(mds)
