Officials extended the contraflow lane in traffic engineering from KM 47 to KM 65 towards Cikampek on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road at 1:10 p.m. WIB. Karawang (ANTARA) - Officials extended the counterflow traffic engineering on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road following the increasing volume of vehicles traversing that stretch during the long holiday for International Labour Day 2026. Vice President Corporate Secretary & Legal of PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paallo, in her statement in Karawang, West Java, on Friday, conveyed that the implementation of counterflow is one step to reduce vehicle density on the toll road section. PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) supports the police’s discretion to extend the contraflow lane from KM 47 to KM 65 towards Cikampek on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road at 1:10 p.m. WIB. Previously, at 10:04 a.m. WIB, officials had implemented contraflow traffic engineering from KM 55 to KM 65 towards Cikampek on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road section. She stated that the contraflow is implemented at the police’s discretion, which among other things aims to anticipate the increase in vehicle volume heading to the Eastern Trans Java region during this long weekend holiday period. “JTT together with the Police continue to intensively monitor traffic conditions to ensure that traffic arrangements run optimally,” she said. Amid the high traffic flow, Jasamarga urges all Trans Java toll road users to continue prioritising safety in driving by ensuring the driver’s and vehicle’s conditions are in prime condition before starting the journey. Road users are also expected to maintain a safe distance, pay attention to traffic signs, and follow the instructions of officers in the field. In addition, road users are urged to anticipate potential weather changes during the journey, ensure sufficient electronic money balance, and plan the journey well.
