Hajj Service Officers (PPIH) will be stationed at multiple points to assist Indonesian pilgrims during the peak Hajj period in Mina, particularly during the stoning ritual at Jamarat. This precautionary measure is taken as the Mina phase is one of the most physically demanding for pilgrims. The officers will be deployed across five key positions along the Jamarat route. Pilgrims needing assistance can easily identify them by their brown uniforms and hats. Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak has urged Indonesian pilgrims to prepare their physical stamina and get adequate rest to cope with the long walking routes from Mina to Jamarat. “From the farthest tents at Base 12 to Jamarat, it’s approximately 3.5 kilometres one way, meaning a round trip of 7 kilometres daily,” Dahnil said while inspecting tent facilities in Mina and the Jamarat route in Saudi Arabia on Saturday (23 May). The Mina phase requires significantly more physical movement compared to the wukuf in Arafah and mabit in Muzdalifah, where pilgrims mostly remain stationary for prayer and remembrance. Dahnil detailed that pilgrims opting for nafar awal (early departure) will walk approximately 21 kilometres in total, while those choosing nafar tsani (second departure) will cover around 28 kilometres. The presence of officers along these critical routes is expected to ensure pilgrim safety. Dahnil urged them to remain calm and stay in groups. “Important information for our Hajj pilgrims on this route: please stay calm and move in groups. If assistance is needed, brown-uniformed officers will be stationed along the way for easy contact,” Dahnil said. (Z-10) Saudi Hajj Service Officers are inspecting the tunnels leading to Jamarat, the stoning site in Mina, Mecca. Meals served include Nusantara flavours such as chicken rendang, beef rendang, chicken opor, and nasi uduk, prepared using high-tech retort pressure cooking technology. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj) is tightening tent arrangements in Arafah ahead of the Hajj peak to ensure all 2026 pilgrims receive fair, orderly, and equal service. The Hajj Oversight Team of Indonesia’s House of Representatives (DPR RI) has urged 241,000 Indonesian pilgrims to maintain health and avoid strenuous activities before the peak Hajj days in Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina. The Shalawat bus service, which transports Indonesian pilgrims from hotels to Masjidil Haram, has temporarily halted operations from 6pm Saudi time on Friday (22 May) ahead of the 2026 Hajj peak. Amirulhaj member Muhaimin Iskandar assessed that the 2026 Hajj operations have been running smoothly as planned. Kemenhaj has established the Armuzna Operational Task Force for the 2026 Hajj peak. Pilgrims are urged to adhere to schedules from 25 May to avoid congestion in Arafah and Mina.
