Official to be quizzed over graft

JAMBI, Jambi: The Jambi Prosecutor's Office will soon question Anang Fahri, the head of Jambi National Unity and People's Protection Agency, who is accused of embezzling Rp 300 million in public money.

An audit has discovered evidence Anang had allegedly marked up a provincial fund financing uniforms and training for Civilian Defense officers in the province.

Actual spending on the program was Rp 600 million, but Rp 900 million had left state coffers and it is alleged Anang had pocketed the difference.

Prosecutors have questioned 12 witnesses in the case.-- JP
