Official Prayer for the 28 October 2026 Youth Pledge Ceremony, Plus Five Examples
Youth Pledge Day is commemorated each year with a ceremony. In addition to reading the Youth Pledge, the ceremony includes a communal prayer and the raising of the Red and White flag.
This year, the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) has issued a prayer for the ceremony through circular letter number B/DP.00/10.14.13/MPO/X/2026. It may be read at ceremonies in settings ranging from schools to government institutions.
What does the prayer say? Below is Kemenpora’s official prayer for the 2026 Youth Pledge ceremony, along with five alternative versions for reference.
Kemenpora’s official prayer for the 2026 Youth Pledge ceremony
Taken from the Indonesian Ministry of Youth and Sports circular concerning the 2026 Youth Pledge ceremony, the prayer reads:
In the name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.
Peace, God’s mercy and blessings be upon you.
O God, Almighty,
With humility, we offer praise and thanks in Your presence for Your grace and blessings, which have enabled us to commemorate the 98th Youth Pledge Day in 2026 in good health and with a strong spirit of togetherness.
O God,
Strengthen within us the spirit of unity and solidarity passed down by the young people of 28 October 1928. Make the diversity of the Indonesian nation a source of strength as we work together to build our country.
Guide Indonesia’s young people to become a generation of strong character and integrity, creative, innovative and competitive, and able to make a tangible contribution to society, the nation and the state.
O God,
Open opportunities for all Indonesian young people to learn, create, achieve and develop their full potential. Keep us from division and from anything that could weaken national unity.
Make the spirit of the Youth Pledge a force that enables us to keep moving forward, work together and build an Indonesia that is advanced, peaceful and prosperous.
Our Lord, grant us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.
Amen, Lord of all worlds.
Peace, God’s mercy and blessings be upon you.

By Your grace, we give thanks for the abundance of Your love and blessings. You placed on this earth young pioneers who would make history in the course of our nation’s journey, boldly proclaiming the Youth Pledge of 1928.
That resolve strengthened our nation’s struggle. You bestowed upon them wisdom and foresight beyond their time. Their pledge was able to strengthen unity amid diversity, until You granted us the blessing of independence.
O God, today we gather with pure hearts, full of gratitude and faith, recalling the noble example of the generation that made the Youth Pledge. May we put that example into practice as inspiration to build a young generation that is intelligent, competent, competitive, virtuous and civilised, and able to achieve things that benefit the prosperity of Indonesia and the wider world.
O God, grant us the light of Your wisdom so that we may clearly choose the best ways to realise what is good for Indonesia’s young people. May they weave unity and coordinated collaboration, mobilising the excellence of the younger generation for a free, sovereign, united, just and prosperous Indonesia, in accordance with Your will and decree.
O God Almighty, give us the ability and spirit to work together in collaborative efforts, pooling our strengths to turn the potential of young people into an enduring force for development. Enable us always to remain resilient and take the best steps with wisdom, so that success after success may be achieved.
God is sufficient for us, and He is the best disposer of affairs, the best protector and the best helper. There is no power or strength except through God, the Most High, the Almighty. Our Lord, grant us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.
May God’s blessings and peace be upon our master Muhammad, his family and companions. Glory be to your Lord, the Lord of might, above what they describe; and peace be upon the messengers. Praise be to God, Lord of all worlds.
O God, the All-Wise, strengthen our bonds of fellowship so that they may create a great force for the good of our nation and the world.
Grant us wisdom so that we may weave our differences into a mosaic of strength for the nation’s progress. Keep us from envy, malice, selfishness and all blameworthy conduct.
O God, who answers prayers, guide the young men and women upon whom the nation places its hopes. Make our young people resilient in their work, firm in their principles, steadfast in upholding honesty and justice, and always eager to do good.
Make them pioneers of dignified change, upholding ethics and morality and placing national spirit at the forefront. Keep them from greed, envy, malice and every action forbidden by religion and the state.
O God, show us the right path, the path of those whom You have favoured, not of those who have incurred Your displeasure. To You alone we pray, and to You alone we surrender.
