PT PLN (Persero) has emphasised that there is no increase in electricity tariffs for June 2026. This statement follows widespread complaints from netizens on social media claiming to have experienced surges in their electricity bills.

Gregorius Adi Trianto, Executive Vice President of Corporate Communications and TJSL at PT PLN (Persero), stated that the electricity tariffs applicable for the April-June 2026 period remain the same and have not undergone any changes compared to the previous period.

“PLN always implements electricity tariff policies as determined by the Government through the Ministry of ESDM. For the April-June 2026 period, electricity tariffs remain stable and have not changed from the previous period,” Gregorius told CNBC Indonesia.

He noted that if customers experience an increase in their electricity bills, it is not caused by a tariff hike. Instead, the increase may be influenced by changes in the customers’ electricity consumption patterns.

“The increase in electricity bills felt by some customers may be influenced by changes in consumption patterns due to several factors, such as weather conditions, rising temperatures, and increased household activities, which lead to higher daily use of electrical appliances,” he added.
