Kick-off report from KOMPAS.com: The Pertamina Goes to Campus (PGTC) 2026 program was officially launched at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) on Thursday, 21 May 2026. Under the theme Energizing Acceleration for Future Impact, this year’s edition adopts a new concept with a roadshow across five Indonesian cities. The programme includes a series of competitions, talk shows, exhibitions, and student development activities. The PGTC 2026 opening ceremony was attended by Pertamina management, ITB’s Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof Dr Irwan Meilano, and the Secretary of the Directorate General Risbang of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek), Prof Apt Junaidi Khotib. Arya Dwi Paramita, Pertamina Corporate Secretary, said PGTC 2026 is designed as a strategic platform to cultivate a generation that combines academic knowledge with practical experience gained through industry interaction. “We are bringing the Pertamina Group comprehensively to provide an overview of the business processes in Pertamina. This way, students can understand how the subjects they study relate to career opportunities at Pertamina,” he said in a press release received by Kompas.com on 21 May 2026. “Pertamina’s presence on campus through PGTC provides real insights into future industry challenges from an early stage,” he added. Irwan hopes the programme will broaden students’ horizons and help campuses improve the curriculum to be more aligned with the dynamic development of the industry. He also noted that collaboration between higher education and industry is expected to make a tangible contribution to the progress of the education sector. In line with this, Junaidi Khotib emphasised the importance of corporate support within the student research ecosystem. “The government continues to promote research and innovation that meet national needs. PGTC is a concrete example of Pertamina’s contribution as an industry that engages with campuses early and provides students with insights before entering the workforce,” Junaidi explained. He hopes the programme can reach more universities and encourage other companies to participate in advancing Indonesia’s education. The PGTC 2026 kick-off also marks the opening of the national Energy Debate Championship (EDC) and Energynovation Ideas Competition (EIC) open calls for students across Indonesia. In addition to the opening ceremony, the event featured Energizing Talks titled “Energizing Indonesia: From National Strategy to Everyday Action” and a Youth Stage session on personal development and career opportunities in the energy sector. The programme also includes an expo area in ITB’s West Hall presenting information on careers, internships, scholarships and student development programmes from the Pertamina Group. Through PGTC 2026, Pertamina commits to remaining a collaborative space for Indonesia’s youth to contribute to a greener and more sustainable future of energy.
