Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Yassierli has announced the implementation of a work-from-home (WFH) policy for the private sector. This was stated while reading out a Circular Letter (SE) on WFH and the Workplace Energy Optimisation Programme at the Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) office in Jakarta on Wednesday (1/4/2026).

“Leaders of private companies, State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), and Regional State-Owned Enterprises (BUMD) are urged to implement work from home (WFH) for workers or labourers for one working day per week, in accordance with the company’s conditions,” he said.

“Working hours are regulated by the company with the provisions that (a) wages or salaries and other rights remain paid as per regulations. (b) Implementation of WFH does not reduce annual leave,” he emphasised.

In addition, employees who are WFH are still required to carry out their duties.

“The technical implementation of WFH is regulated by each company,” he said.
