The government is opening a national recruitment for the positions of managers of Red and White Village Cooperatives (Kopdes) and employees of Red and White Fishery Villages (KNMP). Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan, or Zulhas, stated that the 30,000 Kopdes Merah Putih managers will eventually be appointed as employees of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN). “Registration opens from today. So please announce it openly today, 15 April 2026 until 24 April 2026,” Zulhas said during a meeting at the Coordinating Ministry for Food Affairs office in Jakarta on Wednesday (15/4/2026). Registration for the Kopdes Merah Putih manager positions is open from 15 to 24 April 2026. “The government is opening opportunities for the nation’s best sons and daughters to join the National Recruitment of 30,000 Red and White Village/Subdistrict Cooperative Managers. The official registration period runs from 15 to 24 April 2026,” reads a post on the Instagram account @kemenkop. “All stages of this registration do not incur any fees,” states the post on the Instagram account @kemenkop. Zulhas assured that the national recruitment for 30,000 Kopdes Merah Putih managers will select the best candidates. “So, there are no special channels, no recommendations, no parties guaranteeing acceptance,” Zulhas said. “If any party asks for compensation, promises passing, that means it’s a scam, a lie,” Zulhas added. He urged all elements to oversee the recruitment honestly, disciplined, and transparently so that those selected are truly the best to carry out President Prabowo Subianto’s mandate. “To Indonesia’s best sons and daughters, this is the time to take real part. The nation is calling on you to be present in the villages, in the subdistricts,” Zulhas said. It is known that the government launched the Red and White Village Cooperative (Kopdes) on 21 July 2025. This programme is an initiative of President Prabowo Subianto to strengthen the village economy and independence amid the flow of globalisation. Kopdes Merah Putih aims to strengthen the village economy, increase farmers’ exchange rates, create jobs, and enhance village financial inclusion. Unlike conventional cooperatives, Kopdes Merah Putih does not only focus on savings and loan businesses. This cooperative also manages logistics distribution to strengthen the supply chain and assist farmers, fishermen, and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The government mandates that Kopdes Merah Putih have at least seven business units, namely a staple goods outlet, village pharmacy, cooperative office, savings and loan business unit, village clinic, cold storage/cold chain, and logistics (distribution).
