Official Government PLN Electricity Tariffs for April 2026: Will They Rise or Not?

It is important to note that changes in electricity tariffs are determined every three months. The basis is outlined in the Regulation of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia Number 7 of 2024 concerning Electricity Tariffs Provided by PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero). “The adjustment of electricity tariffs as referred to in paragraph (1) shall be carried out every three months if there is a change in factors, either an increase or decrease, that may affect the electricity generation cost…” states Article 6 paragraph (2). Several factors considered in determining electricity tariffs include the US dollar exchange rate against the rupiah, Indonesian Crude Price (ICP), inflation, and/or reference coal prices.
