Official: Details of Electricity Tariffs from 1 April 2026 for All PLN Customer Groups
The government has confirmed that electricity tariffs will not increase from 1 April 2026. The applicable rates refer to those for the second quarter of 2026, covering the period from April to June 2026. Acting Director General of Electricity at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Tri Winarno, stated that this decision to maintain the tariffs was made after considering various factors, including the current economic conditions. “This determination is intended to safeguard the public’s purchasing power ahead of Eid al-Fitr, following calculations based on various macroeconomic parameters,” Tri said in an official statement on Monday (16/3/2026). The regulation explains that tariffs for non-subsidised customers are evaluated every three months. Tariff adjustments are based on several macroeconomic indicators, such as the rupiah exchange rate, the Indonesian Crude Price (ICP), inflation, and the coal reference price (HBA). This policy ensures that electricity tariffs remain the same until June 2026, for both subsidised and non-subsidised customers.
