Official! Complete List of PLN Electricity Tariffs, Effective September 2026
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has confirmed that electricity tariffs for the third quarter of 2026, covering July to September, will not increase. One of the main reasons is to safeguard the public’s purchasing power.
Previously, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia said the government had decided to maintain electricity tariffs in order to protect people’s purchasing power and support national economic stability amid global economic dynamics.
“To protect the public’s purchasing power and support national economic stability, the government has decided that electricity tariffs for the third quarter of 2026 will remain unchanged, with no increase,” Bahlil said in an official statement issued some time ago, quoted on Tuesday (8/9/2026).
Under Ministerial Regulation No. 7 of 2024, tariff adjustments for 13 categories of non-subsidised customers are normally carried out every three months based on changes in four macroeconomic parameters: the rupiah exchange rate, the Indonesian Crude Price (ICP), inflation, and the Coal Reference Price (HBA).
For the third quarter of 2026, the parameters used were the actual figures for the February–April 2026 period, which recorded an exchange rate of Rp16,959.32 per US$, an ICP of US$96.12 per barrel, inflation of 0.21%, and an HBA of US$70 per tonne (in line with the Domestic Market Obligation/DMO coal policy).
Although the formula suggested a potential change in tariffs, the government decided to maintain electricity tariffs in order to preserve national economic stability.
Bahlil added that, in addition to non-subsidised customers, the policy also applies to 24 categories of subsidised customers, whose tariffs are likewise confirmed to remain unchanged, including social customers, low-income households, small businesses, small industries, and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
“The government is committed to providing electricity that is reliable, affordable and fair. This fixed-tariff policy is part of our efforts to maintain economic stability whilst ensuring that electricity services remain sustainable,” Bahlil said.
The following is the list of electricity tariffs for the 13 non-subsidised customer categories for the third quarter of 2026:
Category R-1/TR, 900 VA: Rp1,352 per kWh.
Category R-1/TR, 1,300 VA: Rp1,445 per kWh.
Category R-1/TR, 2,200 VA: Rp1,445 per kWh.
Category R-2/TR, 3,500–5,500 VA: Rp1,700 per kWh.
Category R-3/TR, 6,600 VA and above: Rp1,700 per kWh.
Category B-2/TR, 6,600 VA–200 kVA: Rp1,445 per kWh.
Category B-3/Medium Voltage (TM), above 200 kVA: Rp1,122 per kWh.
Category I-3/Medium Voltage (TM), above 200 kVA: Rp1,122 per kWh.
Category I-4/High Voltage (TT), 30,000 kVA and above: Rp997 per kWh.
Category P-1/TR, 6,600 VA–200 kVA: Rp1,700 per kWh.
Category P-2/Medium Voltage (TM), above 200 kVA: Rp1,533 per kWh.
Category P-3/TR for public street lighting: Rp1,700 per kWh.
Category L/TR, TM, TT: Rp1,645 per kWh.
