Official 2026 Electric Motorbike Conversion Workshops: Locations and Latest Costs
The Indonesian government is accelerating the electric vehicle ecosystem through a gasoline-to-electric motorbike conversion programme. By 2026, public interest is forecast to surge following a subsidy increase to Rp15 million per unit. Vehicle owners are urged to only use workshops certified by the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub). Below is a list of certified electric motorbike conversion workshops across various Indonesian regions: To qualify for government subsidies, vehicle owners must meet certain criteria. After mechanical conversion at the workshop, the motorbike undergoes type testing to obtain a Type Registration Certificate (SRUT). This document serves as the basis for the Police (Samsat) to issue a new STNK (vehicle registration certificate) indicating it is electric. The license plate will also be replaced with a special design featuring a blue stripe at the bottom. Interested parties can register online via the official electric motorbike conversion platform at ebtke.esdm.go.id/konversi to monitor subsidy quota availability in real time. The task force led by Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia will focus on three main programmes. He added that to maximise the programme’s benefits, policy support must be expanded beyond just purchase subsidies.
