Officers Sterilise Lanes Ahead of One-Way Implementation on Cipali Toll Road
The managers of the Cikopo-Palimanan (Cipali) toll road, together with the police, are carrying out lane cleaning (sterilisation) ahead of the implementation of one-way traffic engineering on the Cipali toll road section during the Eid return flow. Head of Sustainability Management & Corporate Communications at Astra Tol Cipali, Ardam Rafif Trisilo, stated in Subang, West Java, on Monday (23/3), that in accordance with instructions from the National Police Traffic Corps, the one-way traffic engineering from KM 263 of the Pejagan-Pemalang toll road section to KM 70 of the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road section will be enforced on Monday. As a preparatory measure, officers began cleaning the lanes (sterilisation) at 14:00 WIB, with the implementation time subject to police discretion. He explained that the implementation of one-way traffic engineering on the Cipali toll road is situational, adjusted to the discretion of the police on the ground. Meanwhile, based on data from 00:00 WIB to 13:00 WIB on H+1 Eid this year, traffic flow towards Jakarta was observed to have increased significantly with busy but smooth conditions. Approximately 23,000 vehicles have passed Cikopo towards Jakarta, 139% higher than the same period the previous day. Meanwhile, traffic flow on the Cipali toll road towards Cirebon was observed to be easing, with around 21,000 vehicles, or 33% lower than the previous day. Overall, the total traffic volume on the Cipali toll road this afternoon increased by about 6% compared to the same period yesterday. To maintain smooth traffic flow and collective safety, Astra Tol Cipali urges all road users not to stop on the road shoulder, except in emergency conditions. Road users are advised to rest at the nearest rest area or can utilise rest facilities outside the nearest toll gate if parking capacity is full, with the assurance of the same toll fare (accumulated per kilometre). Astra Tol Cipali also urges all road users to ensure the condition of their vehicles and the physical state of the drivers are in prime condition, and strongly recommends not forcing oneself to drive if feeling tired or drowsy.
