Subang (ANTARA) - Officers are implementing an open-close system for rest areas along the Cikopo-Palimanan (Cipali) toll road following the congestion of vehicles parked around the rest areas on H-2 Lebaran or Thursday. Sustainability Management & Corporate Communications Dept. Head of Astra Tol Cipali, Ardam Rafif Trisilo, stated in Subang, West Java, on Thursday that the one-way traffic flow on the Cipali toll road is currently quite busy but smooth overall. Based on data from 00:00 WIB to 19:00 WIB, around 100,000 vehicles have passed through the Cipali toll road, exiting the former Cikopo Toll Gate towards Cirebon. The number of vehicles passing is slightly lower by about 2.7 percent compared to the same period the previous day, with an average volume of around 5,200 vehicles per hour. In terms of services, rest areas on the Cipali toll road are now subject to a situational open-close system, adjusted to parking capacity and field conditions. Astra Tol Cipali suggests that road users utilise the nearest toll gates as alternative rest areas if the rest area capacity is full. Road users will not be charged additional fees when exiting and re-entering the toll road. This is because the transaction system on the Trans-Java Toll network uses a closed system that calculates tariffs based on the distance travelled. Astra Tol Cipali once again urges all road users to prepare their journeys thoroughly, ensure physical fitness, and vehicle readiness (sufficient fuel, electrical power, and electronic money balance).
