Officers implement open-close system for rest area to address congestion on Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road

Karawang (ANTARA) - Officers from PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) together with the police have implemented an open-close access system for the rest area at KM 57 A towards Cikampek on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road following the density of the parking area around that location. Vice President Corporate Secretary & Legal of PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paallo, stated in Karawang, West Java, on Sunday that the implementation of the open-close access to the rest area is carried out situationally. This is also a precautionary measure against the potential density of vehicles entering and exiting the rest area, considering the high mobility of the public heading to the eastern regions of Trans Java during the mudik period. According to her, the traffic engineering in the form of open-close access to the rest area is carried out to maintain the smooth flow of vehicles on the main route of the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road. “The regulation of open-close access to the rest area is carried out situationally at the discretion of the police, taking into account the traffic conditions on the ground,” she said. As an alternative, JTT urges road users to utilise other rest areas along the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road section as well as the subsequent Trans Java route, to avoid concentrated density at one point, such as the Cipularang-Padaleunyi Toll Road section heading to Bandung. This step is expected to help distribute vehicles more evenly so that the journey remains smooth and comfortable. JTT also reminds all Trans Java toll road users to prioritise safety in driving, ensure the condition of the driver and vehicle is in prime condition, maintain a safe distance, and ensure sufficient electronic money balance before travelling.
