Officers Implement Contraflow on Japek Toll Road to Address Return Traffic Density

Vice President Corporate Secretary & Legal of PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT), Ria Marlinda Paallo, stated in Karawang, West Java, on Saturday that contraflow was implemented from KM 70 to KM 47 towards Jakarta on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road at 15:48 WIB.

Contraflow (traffic engineering utilising part of the opposing lane) on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road aims to anticipate the increase in vehicle volume during this Lebaran return traffic period and is implemented at the discretion of the police.

This contraflow traffic arrangement is applied situationally based on on-site traffic conditions and coordination between JTT and the police to maintain the smoothness and safety of road users.

Ria Marlinda stated that the implementation of contraflow is one of the strategic steps to anticipate traffic density heading towards Jakarta.

“The implementation of contraflow from KM 47 to KM 70 towards Jakarta is carried out at police discretion as an effort to maintain smooth vehicle flow and support the one-way local Trans Java from KM 263 to KM 70, which is still in effect,” she said.

JTT, together with the police, continues to intensively monitor traffic conditions to ensure that traffic management runs optimally.

JTT urges all Trans Java toll road users to prioritise safety while driving by ensuring that the driver’s condition and the vehicle are in prime condition before starting the journey.

Road users are also expected to maintain a safe distance, pay attention to traffic signs, and follow the instructions of officers on site.

In addition, road users are urged to anticipate potential weather changes during the journey, ensure sufficient e-money balance, and plan the journey well.
