Officers implement "contraflow" on Japek Toll Road during Good Friday holiday

A contraflow was implemented from KM 47 to KM 66 towards Cikampek on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road at 09:18 WIB. Karawang (ANTARA) - Officers from PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) along with the police have applied a “contraflow” traffic engineering measure on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road to anticipate the high volume of vehicles heading to the eastern Trans Java region during the Good Friday holiday period. Vice President Corporate Secretary & Legal of PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paallo, in Karawang, West Java, on Friday, stated that the implementation of contraflow is one strategic step to alleviate traffic congestion for vehicles passing from Jakarta towards Cikampek. At the discretion of the police, the traffic engineering in the form of contraflow was applied from KM 47 to KM 66 towards Cikampek on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road at 09:18 WIB. She said that the contraflow traffic engineering is enforced situationally, adjusted to the on-site traffic conditions as well as coordination between JTT and the police to maintain the smoothness and safety of road users. “The enforcement of ‘contraflow’ on one lane from KM 47 to KM 66 towards Cikampek is at the discretion of the police as an effort to maintain the smooth flow of vehicles heading to the Eastern Trans Java region,” she said. JTT together with the Police continues to intensively monitor traffic conditions to ensure that traffic arrangements run optimally. JTT urges all Trans Java Toll Road users to continue prioritising safety in driving by ensuring that the driver’s and vehicle’s conditions are in prime condition before starting the journey. Road users are also expected to maintain a safe distance, pay attention to traffic signs as well as instructions from officers on the ground, especially when following the traffic engineering. In addition, road users are urged to anticipate potential weather changes during the journey, ensure sufficient electronic money balance, and plan the journey well.
