Officers clear illegal parking and install prohibition banners in Glodok

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Joint officers cleared illegal parking and installed prohibition banners along the pavement of Pancoran Street in Glodok Urban Village, Taman Sari Sub-district, West Jakarta, on Tuesday.

Syafrudin, Transport Enforcement Coordinator for Taman Sari Sub-district, said the banners were put up so that members of the public would no longer use the pavement for parking.

“The installation of these banners is to build shared awareness, so that vehicle owners no longer park on the pavement,” said Sari when contacted in Jakarta on Tuesday.

He hopes the pavement will once again fully serve pedestrians, and that congestion in the business and commercial district will decrease.

“If vehicle owners no longer park on the pavement, it will be comfortable for all road users,” he said.

He added that his team will carry out monitoring to maintain traffic order and prevent illegal parking from recurring in the area.
