Office Sealed by KPK, Acting Regent of Kuansing Ensures Work Continues

The office of the Deputy Regent of Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing), Mukhlisin, who currently serves as Acting Regent, has been sealed by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) following the arrest and detention of Regent Suhardiman Amby and Kuansing Regional Secretary Zulkarnaen. Although his office cannot yet be used, he assured that the situation has not disrupted the running of the government or public services. He stated that the local government has prepared a temporary workspace so that government activities can continue as normal. ‘My office has indeed been sealed, but another room has been prepared. The important thing is that we can still work,’ said Mukhlisin on Friday (3/7). He did not specify the location of the workspace, whether it is still in the Regent’s Office or elsewhere. However, he noted that his current office is smaller. ‘Even though the room is smaller, it is not a problem. The most important thing is that services to the community continue to run,’ he said. Regarding the situation within the Kuansing government, he stated that it is operating as usual and there is no turmoil. However, he reminded all government officials to be more careful in carrying out their duties and to always adhere to the applicable regulations. He believes the alleged corruption case involving the regional leadership must serve as a lesson so that future governance becomes better, cleaner, and more transparent. ‘This incident is a lesson for all of us. God willing, in the future we will run the government according to the applicable rules and regulations. Hopefully, no similar cases will occur in Kuantan Singingi Regency,’ he concluded.
