Office Raided, Public Works Minister: Jakarta Prosecutors Asked for Permission to Enter Rooms, I Just Allowed It

Public Works Minister Dody Hanggodo stated that investigators from the DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor’s Office asked for his permission before searching the Ministry of Public Works office in South Jakarta on Thursday (9/4/2026). “Friends from the DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor’s Office came and asked for permission to conduct a deeper investigation by entering several rooms. So, I just gave them permission,” Dody said in Jakarta, as reported by Antara on Thursday. He added that the investigators arrived with several official documents. Dody admitted he has not yet received further information regarding the case being investigated by the team. He conveyed that the investigators did not explain the specific issue they were handling and only mentioned that they wanted to conduct a deeper probe. Dody emphasised that his side has provided full permission and freedom to the prosecutorial team to carry out the investigation, including access to his own office. “I gave permission, I even said for my room, please go ahead. And I have informed my head of security that if they (the officers) want to enter my room, please go ahead,” Dody stated. Previously, it was reported that the DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor’s Office raided the Public Works Ministry office in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, on Thursday (9/4/2026). Head of the Legal Information Section of the DKI Jakarta High Prosecutor’s Office, Dapot Dariarma, confirmed the search. Dapot also confirmed that the search was related to an alleged non-criminal corruption case. “That’s correct,” Dapot said when confirmed by Kompas.com on Thursday afternoon.
