Offering Global Learning Access in Singapore for Excellence in Human Resource Development
In the increasingly global and competitive employment landscape, young generations’ readiness is determined not only by academic achievement but also by practical experience, critical thinking abilities, and confidence in facing professional challenges.
The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded 7.28 million unemployed individuals in Indonesia as of February 2025. This figure increased by 1.1% or 83,000 people compared to the same period last year, with graduate unemployment rising by 14.6%, the highest increase among all education levels. This reflects a gap between academic competence and workplace requirements. The challenge is particularly evident in the need to strengthen soft skills such as presentation, problem-solving, decision-making, and readiness to face real business situations.
Recognising this need, PT Prudential Life Assurance (Prudential Indonesia) has launched the Prudential–INSEAD NextGen Academy, an intensive three-day learning programme at INSEAD Asia Campus, Singapore, on 7–9 July 2026.
The programme is designed for final-year undergraduate students from various disciplines to experience real-world immersion with an MBA-style learning approach. Through real case studies, strategic discussions, and decision-making simulations, participants will gain direct understanding of dynamics and challenges in the global work environment. Mentoring sessions with INSEAD academics, Prudential management, and industry leaders form an important part of building leadership perspective and increasing participants’ confidence.
As part of this initiative, Prudential Indonesia will send six selected students to join other international students. Cross-cultural interaction and opportunities to build global networks are expected to broaden participants’ outlook whilst strengthening their readiness to begin professional careers.
This initiative is part of Prudential Indonesia’s sustainability commitment (Environment, Social, and Governance – ESG), particularly on the social pillar, which focuses on community empowerment through improved access to education and youth talent development. The company believes that long-term investment in educated and globally competitive youth will contribute to improved quality of life and create sustainable social impact, aligned with efforts to support Indonesia’s vision of Golden Indonesia 2045.
Karin Zulkarnaen, Chief Customer & Marketing Officer of Prudential Indonesia, stated: “We understand the importance of opening broader learning spaces for Indonesian young talent. Through INSEAD NextGen Academy, we wish to provide learning experiences that not only enrich knowledge but also build confidence and readiness to face the evolving professional world. We hope this programme will be a concrete step in supporting the emergence of adaptive, competent, and globally competitive young Indonesians.”
All participants will receive an international standard certificate from INSEAD to strengthen their professional credentials. The programme also serves as an initial stage for Prudential to identify young talent and build a long-term talent pipeline that can later join through internship programmes or become permanent employees.
“We are confident that investing in developing future leaders will ensure continuity, stability, and sustainability amid an industry undergoing significant demographic change. This programme presents a unique opportunity for Prudential to navigate future challenges and opportunities whilst fostering a culture of exploration, learning, innovation, and inclusivity for our young generation,” Zulkarnaen added.
Through Prudential–INSEAD NextGen Academy, Prudential Indonesia reaffirms its role not only as an insurance and financial services company but also as a partner in empowering young people and developing Indonesian human resources towards Golden Indonesia 2045.
Programme registration is open until 31 March 2026, with selection process in April 2026 and announcement of selected participants in May 2026.
