Oegroseno Postpones Kortastipidkor Clarification; Police Deny Criminalisation
Former Deputy Chief of Police Komjen Pol (Purn) Oegroseno has postponed fulfilling an invitation for clarification from the Police’s Corruption Eradication Corps (Kortastipidkor) regarding an investigation into alleged corruption in the procurement of land for the Women’s Police School (Sepolwan). Oegroseno stated he could not attend due to an unavoidable prior engagement and is still gathering relevant documents from 2011. ‘Yes, I still have activities that cannot be left,’ Oegroseno said upon confirmation on Thursday, 23 July 2026. He assured that he remains cooperative and will attend the rescheduled clarification meeting next week. ‘I am still searching for data from 2011. It would be awkward to attend without bringing the data,’ he added. He also confirmed that notification of his postponement had been sent to and received by Kortastipidkor investigators.
Meanwhile, Head of Kortastipidkor Polri, Inspector General Totok Suharyanto, emphasised that the investigation is being conducted purely according to legal procedures and there is no attempt to criminalise Oegroseno. ‘There is absolutely no criminalisation. Kortastipidkor Polri guarantees that the investigation process is proceeding within the legal corridor,’ Totok stated. He explained that the case is still at the inquiry stage to determine whether a criminal act of corruption has occurred. Totok also corrected circulating information, clarifying that investigators did not issue a summons but rather an invitation for clarification as part of the inquiry process.
