Odd-Even Vehicle System Suspended in Jakarta During Eid Holiday, 18-25 March
The odd-even vehicle system in Jakarta will be suspended during the 1447 Hijri Eid holiday period. Police will lift the system from 18 to 25 March.
“During the holiday, we adjust accordingly and there is no odd-even system,” said Metro Jaya Police Chief Irjen Asep Edi Suheri to journalists at Pulo Gebang Terminal, East Jakarta, Saturday (14 March 2026).
Asep stated that the odd-even system is adjusted in line with national holidays, including the Eid holiday period. “From the 18th to the 25th (it will be suspended),” he said.
Previously, the Metro Jaya Police deployed 6,802 personnel to secure the flow of traffic during the 2026 Eid exodus and return journey. Thousands of personnel were stationed at various strategic points to ensure the smooth passage and safety of travellers heading home for Eid.
Metro Jaya Police Public Relations Chief Kombes Budi Hermanto stated that the force has prepared dozens of security and service posts to assist the public travelling during the Eid exodus. In addition, the police have established security posts, service posts, and integrated posts to help the public during the Eid journey. There are a total of 68 posts within the Metro Jaya Police area.
According to him, these posts serve not only to provide information about traffic flow, vehicle congestion, and alternative routes, but also to offer assistance to travellers in need during their journey.
Officers have also prepared rest areas for drivers experiencing fatigue or drowsiness. Additionally, the posts can be utilised in case of problems such as tyre punctures or other technical issues.
