Odd-Even System for Pertalite Fuel Introduced in Bali Today, Udayana Military Command to Help Secure Distribution
The odd-even system for purchasing Pertalite fuel in Bali will be in force from 17 to 19 October 2026. The policy is based on Bali Governor’s Letter No. B.21.500.1/16673/V/DISNAKER.ESDM.
The rules apply to two- and four-wheeled vehicles throughout Bali Province. On Saturday, fuel purchases are limited to vehicles with an odd final number on their registration plates. Sunday is reserved for even-numbered plates, while Monday is again for odd-numbered plates.
The Bali Provincial Government and Pertamina Patra Niaga have also set maximum purchase limits of 20 litres for four-wheeled vehicles and three litres for two-wheeled vehicles.
Pertamina Patra Niaga’s Jatimbalinus Regional office said it supports the policy. Ahad Rahedi, Area Manager for Communications, Relations and CSR at PT Pertamina Patra Niaga’s Jatimbalinus Regional office, said the governor’s letter also sets out priority arrangements for fuel services at petrol stations.
Ambulances and fire engines will receive priority for refuelling. Trucks, meanwhile, may refuel at petrol stations only at night.
The odd-even system is expected to gradually ease queues at Bali’s petrol stations.
“We have also received support from 100 Indonesian Military personnel from the IX/Udayana Military Command, who will work as petrol-station operators at night, as well as police escorts from the Bali Regional Police to ensure the smooth delivery of tanker trucks to petrol stations. This is intended to speed up the recovery of fuel services in Bali through stronger supply, longer petrol-station operating hours, and improved readiness of vehicles and personnel,” Ahad said.
On Friday, 16 October 2026, two fuel tankers docked in Bali carrying a total of 20 million litres of Pertalite. MT Pangkalan Brandan arrived at the Manggis Integrated Terminal with 16 million litres, while MT Asian Rigel docked at the Sanggaran Fuel Terminal carrying four million litres.
Pertamina Patra Niaga aims to bring Bali’s Pertalite stocks to 48 million litres by 17 October 2026. This is projected to cover around two weeks of demand under secure supply conditions.
On the service side, 66 petrol stations are prepared to operate around the clock: 42 in Denpasar and 24 in Badung Regency.
