The purchase of subsidised fuel across Bali will be regulated under an odd-even system from today. The policy will remain in effect until Monday next week, with the aim of speeding up fuel distribution and easing queues amid supply shortages.

Ahad Rahedi, Area Manager for Communication, Relations and CSR at PT Pertamina Patra Niaga’s Jatimbalinus Regional Office, said the policy is set out in Bali Governor’s Letter No. B.21.500.1/16673/V/DISNAKER.ESDM, which Pertamina has received.

“Fuel purchases using odd- and even-numbered vehicle registration plates will be regulated from Saturday, 17 October 2026, until Monday, 19 October 2026,” Ahad said at the Integrated Terminal (IT) Sanggaran in Denpasar, as reported by detikBali and quoted on Saturday (17 October 2026).

Ahad explained that purchases of subsidised fuel, particularly Pertalite, would be determined by the final digit of a vehicle’s registration number and the date. Vehicles with odd-numbered plates may refuel on 17 October, while those with even-numbered plates may do so on 18 October.

“So, on the 17th, vehicles with odd-numbered plates [may refuel], followed on the 18th by vehicles with even-numbered plates across Bali Province,” he said.

Pertamina will coordinate with the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the National Police (Polri) to help manage vehicles at petrol stations and ensure compliance with the odd-even rules.
