ODC Task Force Identifies Characteristics of Perpetrators in Muliama Civil Servant Shooting

The characteristics of the perpetrators have been identified and are currently being pursued.

Kombes Yusuf Sutejo, Head of Public Relations for the Peace Cartim Cartenz Operation Task Force (ODC), stated that the ODC has identified the features of the members of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) responsible for the shooting that killed three civil servants from the Jayawijaya Regency Agriculture Office.

“The characteristics of the perpetrators have been identified and they are now being pursued,” said Kombes Yusuf in Jayapura on Friday.

He stated that the shooting occurred on Wednesday (9/9), while the group from the Jayawijaya Regency Agriculture Office was travelling back after delivering food assistance to Kimbim Village, Asologaima District.

From the processing of the crime scene, several pieces of evidence suspected to be related to the shooting were found, including three shell casings: two measuring 5.56 millimetres, which are ammunition from long-barreled firearms, and one 9-millimetre calibre casing, suspected to originate from a short-barreled firearm.

According to witness statements, the attackers and shooters numbered eight people, two of whom were carrying long-barreled firearms.

“The pursuit of the KKB perpetrators involved in the shooting is ongoing, alongside law enforcement efforts,” said ODC Public Relations Head Kombes Yusuf Sutejo.

The three civil servants from the Jayawijaya Regency Agriculture Office who were victims of the KKB shooting in Muliama were Aprida Rapi (49), Alfonsius Albinus Meha (35), and Willi Mbuik (25).
